“Good deed” on track

There was a line-up of nearly 40 vehicles at the rail crossing on Kerr Street in Oakville but only 21-year-old Rushad Bharda, an Armoured Reconnaissance crewman with the Governor General’s Horse Guards, a reserve regiment based in Toronto, got out of his car and sprinted towards the 18-wheel tractor-trailer that had got stuck on the tracks on February 28, 2017. Whilst the tractor-trailer was crossing the tracks, the barrier had come down and got lodged between the tractor-trailer’s cab and exhaust pipe.
