I was unpleasantly disappointed to read about gender discrimination at the Ripon Club ("Ripon ready for reform?” Parsiana, August 21, 2017)! I strongly feel Parsi women should be allowed as full-fledged members of this Club. I understand the reasoning and dilemma of the Club committee regarding women marrying non Parsis but may I ask how many Parsis are left that we can afford to make such extravagant and discriminatory rules?
I think the Ripon Club committee should welcome Parsi women and their non-Parsi husbands and children. It is an excellent facility which should not be denied to the Parsi ladies.
Recently, I had the pleasure of being treated to lunch at the Ripon Club when I could not help but notice the beautiful building and its furniture that helped me go back in time. The food was equally splendid. ISPHANYAR M. BHANDARA
