“Not doles but day care”

I completely agree with what is stated in Piroja Jokhi’s letter ("Not doles but day care,” Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, August 21, 2017). She mentions, "What we need today are not doles and charity but safe and secure daycare facilities for the children. No self-respecting parents would accept doles or charity to raise their children.” We are facing the same problem in our family where both the parents are working. They have a one-and-a-half-year-old son but are reluctant to have another child due to lack of reliable daycare facilities. Jiyo Parsi must visit Parsi baugs and explore the possibility of opening daycare centers by unemployed Parsi ladies residing in the baugs by paying them handsome remuneration. The premises for the same should also be in the baugs only. I hope the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) can help Jiyo Parsi to a great extent in this matter.                  MAHYAR ANTIA  mahyarantia@gmail.com  ...
