Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) announced on its website on April 9, 2017 that Nisaba Godrej (pictured), executive director of the company, would take over as executive chairperson of the company, with current chairman Adi Godrej assuming the role of chairman emeritus. Vivek Gambhir will continue as managing director and chief operating officer, said the announcement.
"Under Nisaba’s leadership, GCPL has developed a very strong, engaged and ambitious team, and consistently ranked as a great place to work,” according to the announcement. Credited with having institutionalized design driven thinking and directly leading product development, the release notes that she has served on GCPL’s board of directors since 2011. She has a BSc degree from theWharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
"Over the last decade, I have worked closely with her (Nisaba) and seen her deliver tremendous results. She is an inspiring leader who will always uphold our values,” noted father Adi, chairman of the Godrej Group.
