Tanya Vakil had been winning a spate of athletic events in the girls under 12 age group in 2017. At the Dadar Parsee Colony Gymkhana Annual Floodlit Athletic Meet from April 28-30, 2017 she won three trophies — Girls under 14 Individual Champion, Best Girl Athlete, and Best Junior Athlete after creating two new meet records in 300 m run which she completed in 52.2 secs and a leap of 1.15 m in high jump. She additionally won gold medals in 60 m run, 150 m run, long jump and two relay events, notes a press release.
