Dinyar Panthaky, MEJMT chairman, along with Dudhe, said that such interactions should be organized on a regular basis. The police pledged to use every available resource to address the residents’ problems. These ranged from the alarming rise in house breakings and robberies in DPC, chain snatching and theft of car emblems, to unauthorized parking of taxis after 10 p.m. and the noise caused by drivers while washing their vehicles on the road. The no entry and one way signboards at Five Gardens need to be removed, certain areas should be made silence zones and pedestrian crossings be provided at accident prone spots, the residents requested. Motorbikes are recklessly ridden through DPC with wheelies and other stunts performed and pedestrians are being further endangered by riders on the footpaths. This should be stopped. Signals near the Dadar TT area should be adjusted to enable safe pedestrian crossing. Among the other grievances aired and shared were a need to reduce noise pollution especially during the festival season; ensure that squatters and hawkers do not take over the roads; curb the activities of teens and young adults who drink and take drugs after 9 p.m. in parks; see that trees are trimmed so that they do not block the street lights. All these and more were listed in the email.
Zareen Engineer, MEJMT trustee concluded the meeting with a vote of thanks, the email mentions.
