Calcutta anjuman says "No, thank you" to the Federation of Parsi Zoroastrian Anjumans of India

The Calcutta Zoroastrian Community's Religious and Charity Funds representative on The Federation of the Parsi Zoroastrian Anjumans of India (FPZAI) has written to the all-India body's president Yazdi Desai to "please immediately call off the meeting you have sent notice for as it clearly amounts to interference in the internal affairs of the Calcutta community which the community will not like and will not allow."

Desai had convened a meeting of the FPZAI executive council for July 30 to move a resolution authorising the Federation to intervene in the Originating Summons (OS) filed in the Calcutta High Court by Calcutta residents Prochy Mehta and her daughter Sanaya Mehta Vyas. The OS asks the Court to examine the rights of children born of a Parsi mother and non-Parsi father to enter the Late Ervad Dhunjeebhoy Byramjee Mehta's Zoroastrian Anjuman Atash Adaran in Calcutta.
