The Anjuman Atash Behram (pictured) in Bombay will enter the 127th year of its enthronement on roz Ardibehesht, mah Ardibehesht, September 16, 2024. It was the last Atash Behram to be consecrated. The building behind the main edifice housing the yazishn-gah, where the inner liturgical ceremonies are performed, was declared open on roz Dae-pa-Adar, mah Spandarmad, August 21, 1887. Religious ceremonies for the consecration of the Atash Behram’s fire commenced in May 1896 and continued through October 1897.
Even though donations were received from Parsis in India and abroad for building this Atash Behram, Dastur JamaspAsa, the first High Priest of the Anjuman Atash Behram and his supporters had to surmount many difficulties and it took nearly 11 years to complete the building and enthrone the fire.

Today the interest income from the corpus is not enough to cover the expenditure, resulting in an annual deficit, though there is a trickle of donations. The trustees, Dastur (Dr) Jamasp Dastur Kaikhusroo JamaspAsa, Dr Burjor H. Antia, Phiroze J. Katrak, Noshir P. Katrak, Maneck N. Mulla and Khushroo B. Panthaky need to build up the corpus substantially to increase the interest income as the Atash Behram has no other income. Even the building repairs carried out earlier were supported by a large donation from Jal Sethna during his lifetime.
We appeal to the Parsi Irani Zoroastrian community and others to help strengthen the financials of the Atash Behram by contributing generously with large donations to increase our corpus or smaller amounts towards the objects of the trust.
Cheques made in favor of "Zarthoshti Anjumana Atash Behram Fund” may be sent to the Atash Behram at 610, Jagannath Shankarseth Road, Dhobitalao, Bombay 400002.
