Parsiana’s closure

I am deeply saddened to learn that Parsiana is closing down. I am theologically Zoroastrian, not by birth — though my mother was Parsi — but by conviction and reverence for the teachings of Zarathushtra.
Parsiana is not just a mirror to the community; it’s a living embodiment of what the Gathas say when they invoke Vohu Mana, the good mind. It is through Vohu Mana that Zarathushtra himself is said to have first encountered Ahura Mazda. To live by the good mind is to choose clarity over confusion, love over fear, and truth over convenience.
Parsiana stands for that. Not just in words, but in presence. The magazine doesn’t just reflect the truth — it invites others to see it, to live it.

I was truly saddened to read that Parsiana will shut shop in October. It feels like the end of an era. Parsiana has been more than just a magazine for me — it has been a trusted voice, a thoughtful chronicler of our community, something I looked forward to every fortnight with great interest and affection.
I can only imagine the dedication and passion it took to keep the magazine going all these years, and I have the deepest respect and admiration for the team for building a magazine that informed, provoked thought and preserved our collective memory as a community. Thank you for the years of sincere effort, high standards and commitment. Parsiana will be missed but never forgotten.

My sisters and I were saddened to learn about Parsiana’s closure. Avid readers of the magazine, we have found it informative, educational and entertaining, providing a storehouse of valuable information.
Parsiana’s high standards, balanced views and coverage of the activities of the Zoroastrian community worldwide have endeared it to readers. Its closure will create a huge vacuum in the Zoroastrian world.
We thank you for your sterling work and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

I read about Parsiana’s impending closure on the online BBC news though, as a subscriber, I was aware of this sad eventuality.
Parsiana has long been a vital source of community news and we will all miss it. In a recent issue, there were four articles on people I know personally, so the closure of this excellent magazine will leave a huge hole in my feeling of inclusion in the community despite living at a great distance from Bombay.
Kudos and many thanks to all those who have made a meaningful impact on our community. Your efforts will always remain memorable and worthwhile.

All plaudits for Parsiana are richly deserved. The editor and his team have done yeoman service in trying to bring a semblance of introspection to this still insular, stagnant and dying community.
