Delhi Parsi Anjuman (DPA) president Ava Khullar (pictured) reiterated a request for reservation for community youth in medical and engineering institutions which have been endowed by Parsis at Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat, Modi Ke Saath [Thoughts of Indians, 
with (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi] meeting held in New Delhi on March 7, 2019. The exercise was launched by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party to prepare its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in April and May this year, noted a report on timesnownews.com. Union minister for minority affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, and minister for social justice and empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot, who received the suggestions, said that the party would consider them while preparing its manifesto.
Khullar emphasized that properties in smaller towns with depleting populations are being encroached upon by other communities and requested that the government should help in protecting these assets. She suggested setting up of state minority commissions in Maharashtra and Gujarat having larger Parsi population so that the concerns of the community can be represented.
According to the news report, All India Imam Association president Maulana Mohd Sajid Rashidi who was present at the meeting said that "Muslims are worried and they need someone to address their concerns.” Father Joseph Manipadam, national secretary of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India, Office for Education and Culture, said that the minority communities should feel secure in the country. Representatives of the Sikh and other communities were present too.
