With the inclusion of the Oregon Zoroastrian Organization (OZO), the Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America (FEZANA) now coordinates 40 associations in the United States and Canada comprising 27 members plus 13 corresponding members. "The FEZANA community extends a warm welcome to its newest corresponding member,” noted the FEZANA Bulletin of July 2021. Under the FEZANA constitution, corres- ponding membership status is given to an organization whose membership
may be less than 10 individuals, or has not been formed exclusively for the purpose of representing and serving the religious and charitable needs of a group of Zoroastrians, or has not been formally registered as a not-for-profit religious/charitable organization in North America.
The five-member OZO was established in March 2021 in the Eugene area in Oregon. "We are a small group of Zoroastrians who strive to spread and educate the public about the Zoroastrian religion and to promote the religious and cultural aspects of the Zoroastrian faith. We aim to make the world a better place by being active in various environmental and social justice issues,” is how they introduced themselves to the FEZANA fraternity.
"We have five members, mostly Americans. We are open to all those people who want to learn and practice the Zoroastrian religion. We do not discriminate against anyone,” stated founder Rebecca DesPrez (Cann) when responding to queries from Parsiana.
