The Holiday Programme for Youth (HPY), conducted under the auspices of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet, was conceptualized in 1987 to help Parsi youth who have just graduated from school to make well-informed and goal oriented career decisions.
The maiden edition of the program in 1987 introduced 80 aspiring youngsters from Bombay to a few career options. With every passing year HPY has re-invented itself to cater to the ever-changing needs of an increasingly competitive society, which is probably why it has grown not through the wonders of modern-day marketing but via sincere word of mouth. Presently, HPY attracts over 200 participants from India and even neighboring countries.
Now at the threshold of its 25th year HPY has earned kudos from leading educationists, celebrated industrialists, acclaimed professionals, an unbiased Press, society at large, and most importantly, thousands of participants.
With the completion of 25 years in the service of the community’s youth, HPY will pass a landmark no other program of its sort has. This has been made possible thanks to the support of our entire community. To raise a toast to this milestone, HPY has planned a celebration that promises an evening that includes fun, food and friends — inarguably, three things that will cause any Parsi/Irani to salivate! Besides, of course, giving HPYites an opportunity to catch up with each other.
This mega celebration is scheduled for November 6, 2010 at the Jeejeebhoy Dadabhoy Agiary, Colaba, from 6.30 p.m. onwards.
