Women super-achievers

Anu Aga, former chairperson of Thermax, who "remains a huge inspiration for women leaders,” is the winner of the lifetime achievement award of the Express Awards for Women Entrepreneurs, 2025, instituted by The Financial Express. The awards are dedicated to "supporting women who are leading transformative change by breaking barriers, leading innovation and impacting communities,” notes a report in The Indian Express (IE) of March 5. 
Filmmaker Kiran Rao, who has made an impact in the sustainability arena as co-founder of Paani Foundation, is winner under the sustainability category. Alina Alam, founder of Mitti Café, which employs only specially-abled persons to manage its outlets, won in the social impact category, notes the report.
The winners were chosen by a six-member jury chaired by finance veteran Deepak Parekh and included Zia Mody, co-founder and managing partner of AZB and Partners; Meher Pudumjee, chairperson of Thermax; Kiran Mazumdar-Shah, founder and executive chairperson, Biocon; Preetha Reddy, executive vice chairperson, Apollo Hospitals; and Sachin Bansal, executive chairman, Navi Group and co-founder of Flipkart. The jury members were to be joined by Anant Goenka, executive director, The Indian Express Group, to give away the awards.                                             S. V.
