  "The Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) has started a ‘Beginner’s Coaching Scheme’ to unearth fresh talent. A group of 15 children between the ages of four to seven are being taught the basics of correct running. To add variety, the children do long jump and mini hurdling. This group is supervised by Khushnum General, a former state athlete," Dara Doomasia informs Parsiana.

 

 
Khushroo Dhunjibhoy is the new chairman of the Royal Western India Turf Club. He replaces Vivek Jain who, though he polled the highest number of votes, could not retain the chairmanship he has held for three years. "Although there is acrimony in the committee room at the moment, time is a great healer and I remain optimistic that we will overcome this situation and work towards providing good governance," Dhunjibhoy told the Mumbai Mirror soon after the election in December. Former chairman Dr Cyrus Poonawalla reportedly played kingmaker, the paper noted.

 

Successfully completing his training at the Manchester United Soccer Schools in the thick of an English winter is 16-year-old Porus Shroff. "The training grounds were so perfect that even though the temperature was around two to three degrees, we were determined to go and play. I also got an opportunity to witness the greatest team (Manchester United) play a game and the atmosphere in and around the stadium was inexplicable. I can proudly say I made the most of this trip," said Shroff who received a prize for skills.
