I am seeking some information on actress Patience Cooper (pictured, born 1905) who first made her mark on stage and then in films.
It would be appreciated if any Parsiana reader can throw light on where she was born and how she happened to come to India. Google states consistently that she was born in Calcutta. However, my information says that she was from the UK and persuaded to come to India by one member of the Baliwala family who owned theaters and produced Urdu plays. On arrival in India, she was trained to speak Urdu and act by one Sohrabji Kerawala.
One of her daughters, Syeda, lived in Houston, USA.
