Boi ceremonies and all the rituals and religious ceremonies in fire temples "benefit the whole community,” noted Dastur Keki Ravji Meherjirana, chief guest at a function to mark the 173rd salgirah celebrations of Cusrow Baug’s Nusserwanji Hirji Karani Agiary on February 2, 2020. The High Priest spoke on the significance of fire and the special place it holds in the religion. He narrated the history of the creation of certain "spiritual” fires by Zoroaster, and by others in Iranian history. In his talk "Across the Arabian Sea ... but for faith and unity,” keynote speaker Ervad (Dr) Pervez Bajan recounted the flight of early Zoroastrians to India. Panthaky Ervad Yazdi Aibara and Baug resident Noshir Bulsara too spoke about the significance of fire.

The occasion was marked by a Havan gah maachi and a jashan led by the High Priest and Aibara. The evening saw another jashan led by Ravji Meherjirana and Ervad Farhad Aibara.
Yazdi’s vote of thanks recounted the contribution of the speakers; the support of trustees Bomi Hansotia and Homi Ranina; the efforts of Bulsara and his wife Pilloo for arranging activities in the fire temple and for the Dasturji Kookadaru Trust; photographers Nazneen and Khurshed Vazifdar; and the Parsi Press.
