By granting 25 wishes of children with life threatening diseases and launching a currency of its own, XYZ Xyros, XtremelyYoung Zoroastrians (XYZ) celebrated its 3rd annual day on December 16, 2017. Television sets, laptops, remote controlled cars and cycles were given by Santa Claus to the children "who accepted them with immense delight and surprise,” notes a report on the event sent to Parsiana by the founder of XYZ Foundation Hoshaang Gotla. The virtual currency will be "earned by all XYZ members by participating and winning in competitions, attending Fundays and also organizing social service activities,” states Gotla.
The celebrations took place at Avabai Petit Girls’ High School in the form of a funfair. "Nine groups of XYZ children put up yummy food and games stall,” Gotla exults. The efforts in setting up stalls vending snacks, soft drinks, ice creams and biryani came in for praise by the parents who participated.

The award ceremony began with giving out the XYZ Ace Award for achieving excellence to 20-year-old badminton player Jehan Daboo. Daboo has represented the country at various World Deaf Badminton Championships from 2011 onwards (see "The spirit of sports,” Parsiana, October 7, 2013). His most recent accolades include a team gold medal, bronze in men’s doubles and 4th place in men’s singles at the National Games for the Deaf in Madras this year. XYZ groups were awarded trophies for events conducted through the year. A member from each group was also awarded with the Best Member Trophy for excellence in participation and contribution through the year 2017.
"The next set of leaders were installed and an oath was taken to work hard and work well with good thoughts, words and deeds and always move towards the XYZ Motto — Ushta Hachaane (pursuit of happiness),” notes Gotla.
