Gallops should be back in full stride at the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) grounds. A Bombay High Court (BHC) directed payment schedule the popular and iconic eatery laid to rest a long-term dispute between the RWITC and Gallops, reported The Times of India (ToI, April 17, 2019). "In the last two years, we have won all appeals...and we have finally achieved a settlement. I am very happy with the outcome today (April 16),” RWITC chairman K. N. Dhunjibhoy told the daily. "The settlement will be a shot in the arm to the Club, suffering from strained resources. It is a win-win for both sides,” commented former RWITC chairman Vivek Jain.

"We will open for the public from Wednesday,” said Jasmine Singh (née Patel), a partner at BJR which has the contract to operate Gallops. The other partners are Iqbal Singh and Rahul Malik. The restaurant employs around 100 staff, the report stated.
BHC Justice Gautam Patel passed the order following "a heated discussion all afternoon in Court between the counsel for BJR and RWITC,” noted ToI. An "‘in-principle agreement’ on a 12-year payment schedule for Rs 48 crores, with Rs 10 crores to be deposited immediately with the Court Receiver (CR)” was reached.
BJR was directed by the BHC to "withdraw all suits” against RWITC including its claim to tenancy rights, the newspaper reported. In 2017 an arbitrator had directed Gallops to pay around Rs 52 crores as damages to the Club for violating the terms of "a business conducting agreement of 2009, stated ToI.
On this April 5, Justice Patel had ordered the eatery shut and sealed as BJR had not complied with the earlier Court order. The CR however will continue to be in "symbolic possession” of the premises and business for 12 years, stated ToI.
