The controversy over the denial of funerary prayers for the late Bahadur Hansotia on account of his having been married to a non-Parsi could have been easily avoided. The panthaky of the Nusserwanji Hirji Karani Agiary Ervad Yazdi Aibara, who stated it was against his beliefs to perform the ceremonies could have requested the family to approach another mobed at the Agiary, ensconced in the cushy environs of Cusrow Baug.
