PGH dialysis facility

Dialysis treatment for kidney related complications commenced for outpatients at The B. D. Petit Parsee General Hospital on March 3, 2022. The dialysis unit was inaugurated by Neville Sarkari and his sister Shahnaz Hathiram on February 10 following a generous donation of Rs 25 lakhs made by Neville to mark the 20th death anniversary of his mother, Homai.

"The new unit with two dialysis machines (and all the associated paraphernalia like a reverse osmosis filter plant) will be a great boon for the chronic kidney failure patients of the community, especially the poor, who can take their repeated dialysis on an outpatient basis now,” noted a press release from Lt Gen (Dr) Manomoy Ganguly (retd), chief executive officer of the Hospital. Free patients at the Outpatient Department can avail of dialysis treatment at no cost, concessional patients at a nominal charge, and those who can afford, on payment that will cover the cost of the equipment and technician fees, clarified Ganguly.
This new facility on the first floor of the main building will complement the existing dialysis machine in the Intensive Care Unit which is presently being used for treating inpatients with kidney failure.
