Over four lakh rupees were disbursed among various charities by the Lonavala Khandala Parsi Zoroastrian Anjuman (LKPZA) during the current year, noted trustee Capt Percy Master, in a note sent to Parsiana on their annual event held on February 9, 2019 at the Cowasjee Adenwalla Daremeher compound. Beneficiaries included the Khadiwala Orthopedic Hospital, Lady Hirabai Cowasjee Jehangir Health Unit, Samvad Trust, National Association for the Blind, Avabai Petit Girls’ High School, Jal Minocher Mistry Memorial Foundation and The B. D. Petit Parsee General Hospital, besides deserving individuals. The Anjuman was able to pay the annual school fees of several girls, he noted. LKPZA also contributes annually to the Daremeher’s kathi fund. Master noted that the funds generated from leasing their renovated two-room guest house to visitors to the hill town has helped them in their charity work.
