Nagpur vaccination drive

Several Parsi associations across the country are assisting their senior citizens get inoculated.
The Nagpur Parsi Gymkhana (NPG) tied up with the Rotary Club of Nagpur to help its elders get their first dose of the Covishield vaccine, notes a write-up from NPG honorary secretary Khurshid Dalal dated March 20, 2021. Many seniors found it challenging to register on the CoWIN site. The NPG stepped in, called up all community members in the age group of 70+ to start with, took down their Aadhar numbers and other details. The team ferried the seniors to Arneja Hospital and back.

Priority was given to the old and feeble. Most others were also vaccinated within a minimum waiting time. "On next priority all those who were in the 60+ age group were also vaccinated. A total of 84 Parsis were vaccinated in this drive. That’s almost 20% of our total Parsi population in Nagpur,” noted Dalal.
In a couple of weeks’ time, the NPG will also facilitate the 45+ age group.
NPG president Taubenda Bhagwagar, Dalal, treasurer Khushroo Randeria and members Jasmine Irani and Pauruchisti Kotwal worked hard on this project and also ferried all the community citizens in their cars. This was the first successful project of the newly elected team headed by Bhagwagar, concludes the write-up.
