"Makeover at Udvada” (Events and Personalities, Parsiana, December 7, 2018) states, as does all other media, that Udvada will be showcased as a heritage station very soon.
As a frequent visitor to Udvada I would like to state that the existing trees standing for several decades at the railway station have been chopped, flattened and now uprooted for this supposedly proud, new heritage status of the town. The station will now have manmade shelters to celebrate "heritage.”
Railway station in Udvada
Is this Zoroastrianism, a religion which is nature based and environment friendly, which has prayers for the five elements? Could this tree depredation be considered development and/or heritage?
