“A kind friend”

I am deeply shocked and heartbroken to hear about Parsiana’s senior editor Farrokh Jijina’s passing and I am still struggling to process the news. I extend my most sincere condolences in this hour of grief to his family and friends and to all the members of the Parsiana team who had the privilege of working with him. He was an exceptionally kind and erudite friend, as well as a terrific professional; someone one loved engaging with.

  Farrokh Jijina: erudite and enthusiastic

I am very saddened to hear he was ailing for two years. He never gave the slightest hint of this in our personal messages. His piece on our advertising agency ("Opting to be the underdog,” Parsiana, April 7, 2016) was one of the finest we have had and it was a joy to see him tackle the article with singular intent and enthusiasm. His loss will be felt at both the community and on the individual level. This is a tough loss to absorb, or accept, especially for those who were closely connected with him.

It is with a heavy heart that I heard the news of my good friend Farrokh Jijina’s passing.
He was a wonderful human being, oozing with the human values of compassion, humility and zest for life. I have only pleasant and memorable reminiscences of him that I wish to preserve in my heart for all times to come.
May his soul progress in the spiritual world and enjoy painless existence and everlasting peace in God’s care and may he continue to guide us mortals in all our endeavors, now and always.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the demise of Farrokh Jijina. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your colleagues and his family.
He was a wonderful writer whose honesty came through in his work. His witty, dry sense of humor always made me smile.
We will miss him.

Our condolences to the Parsiana team. Farrokh was remarkable as he made an effort to share news about the community throughout India. His writing was not just Bombaycentric.
