“Contributing to society”

"Godrej Group chairman Adi Godrej (was) conferred the Mumbai Ratna Award by governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan,” tweeted the constitutional head of Maharashtra on July 19, 2021. The industrialist was among 31 personalities who were recognized with the Award. Koshyari noted that while entrepreneurs, artists, lawyers contribute to society in their own way, "everyone should further contribute to society to make the country self-reliant… This can be done through offering healthcare and education to all, as well as eradicating poverty,” stated local news website Mumbai Live on July 20. The Godrej Group tweeted their appreciation: "We salute you for all that you’ve done to nurture and develop Bombay’s social fabric. Here’s to you.”              Adi Godrej (l) felicitated by governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari     Other awardees included Bombay municipal commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, construction magnate Niranjan Hiranandani, singers Udit Narayan and Anup Jalota and consultant physician Dr Gautam Bhandari. Industrialist Ratan Tata was also felicitated in absentia, noted a communication on the website of Raj Bhavan.
