Bangalore’s new board

The newly constituted seven-member board of trustees of the Bangalore Parsi Zoroastrian Anjuman (BPZA) now includes "three new vibrant and young trustees, Cyrus Dhabar, Cyrus Nariman and Hormazd Sholapurwala (who) were unanimously elected after a long time,” stated president Air Chief Marshal Fali Major (retd). "They were welcomed by all the BPZA members with great warmth,” he noted in an email responding to Parsiana queries concerning their annual general meeting held on September 28, 2022 at Lady Kothari Hall. Three former trustees Phiroze Bharda, Wg Cdr (Dr) Merzy Marker and Jehangir Writer "hung up their boots after many years of invaluable service to the BPZA… All of them will be missed for their outstanding service and great contribution to the welfare and well-being of our community members,” noted Major.

The newly constituted board "is now a very well balanced and healthy mix of experienced and new generation trustees, which… will not only add great value, but re-energize the board with progressive and out-of-the-box ideas and innovations to take our community to greater heights,” hoped Major.
The board also includes Shereyar Vakil, Dinshaw Cawasji and Ervad Yezdi Unwala.
The cordial and orderly meeting was preceded by a high tea. "The members were made aware of the maintenance/use of all trust properties, the finances, future plans for enhancing greater cohesion among the community members and planned activities in the future. This update was well received by the members. Their comments/suggestions were of great value and the newly constituted board will address them in the best possible manner,” noted Major. The entire AGM was interspersed with Parsi humor, he added.
Community members Cyrus Bharucha, Maki Bharda and Dilnawaz Karkaria were felicitated for "their immense contribution, dedication and silent service to the board of trustees and fellow community members,” said Major.
