Whenever and wherever freedom has been imperiled, injustice or abuse of the law have reared their ugly heads, the Fourth Estate has played a stellar role in restoring sanity. And so it has been with Parsiana; over the past 60 years it has been the voice of rationality and reason, the beacon of hope and maturity in the community.
Whenever our community has been faced with sensitive issues, Parsiana has always been balanced, reporting and projecting the truth, however difficult it may have been and despite the brickbats they had to endure.
However, as is the law of nature, all good things have to end, and Parsiana will permanently shut shop with the October 21, 2025 issue.
While Parsiana will certainly be missed and its loss felt, the editor and his redoubtable team can take pride in the fact that they leave behind an enduring legacy of having discharged their duties in the true spirit of journalism. As American writer Walter Lippmann had famously said: "There can be no higher law in journalism than to tell the truth and shame the devil.” DINSHAW TAMBOLY

The sad news about Parsiana closing down will greatly affect the immigrant Parsis scattered all over the world. I for one will miss reading Parsiana from cover to cover as soon as it arrived. It afforded readers contact with their compatriots in India and prevented them from feeling cut off from their roots.
Another way of maintaining the contact between Indian Zoroastrians and the diaspora would be to institute an attractive, permanent exchange program for students and other youngsters.
I was fortunate to have access to all Parsi newspapers and magazines since my early childhood. Even as a six or seven-year-old I recall seeing the magazine Cherag in my father’s study. Along with several other publications, it has disappeared.
I thank you profusely for all that Parsiana has done for the community and for me. Here are a few words of appreciation:
Precious pearl of a Parsi magazine
Articulating well-balanced views
Regarding issues as they happen —
Social and international Parsi news
Instructively as it can
Assembling constructively diverse
issues.
Noted for blazing a new trail
And now, sadly, bidding us farewell!
And yet its record will serve us well
And forever in our hearts dwell!

The Sunday Indian Express of September 21, 2025 carried a front page feature about Parsiana’s closure. This news has caused much sadness for your many avid readers, including myself.
There must have been compelling reasons to shut down a much loved publication that has served the community for several decades. My gratitude and appreciation for the editor and team for having given us a world class magazine that truly mirrored our global community.
We will miss your editorials, sharp, bold and hard-hitting even as we will miss being updated on all the current community news. I wish you and your dedicated team many fulfilling years ahead. Thank you for all the joy you brought us as we awaited each new issue!

My daughter Khorshed and I feel more and more sad as the date of the final issue of Parsiana approaches. It has given us such interesting, enjoyable, informative and honest news of our community which we would never have been aware of but for Parsiana.
Personalities, history and many other topics were our favorite pages and it was exciting to see a friend or relative mentioned. For instance, although we visited my paternal grand-uncle Peshotan Marker every week, we got to know so much more about him from your publication. The same was the case regarding other illustrious friends and people. JEROO MEHTA
