WZO: new trustees

"The success of a trust is dependent on two things: the first, to establish a team with vision; the second, to establish a culture that contributes to the success of the vision. A few people with integrity, commitment and dedication can take things a long way. In (our Trusts) it has been our policy to view good governance, sound management and absolute probity, not as hurdles to clear, but as opportunities to demonstrate to donors and supporters that we are accountable, trustworthy and a wise investment,” noted Dinshaw Tamboly, chairman of the WZO (World Zoroastrian Organisation) Trusts. Parsiana had requested him for a comment on the appointment of three new trustees.

Solicitor Farzana Mojgani was inducted as a trustee in 2007. Other trustees have remained constant over the years.
A decade-long search by the three Trusts (The WZO Trust Funds, The WZO Trust for Women and Children and The World Zoroastrian Organisation Trust) "to identify suitable individuals (with) the abilities and inclination… in managing the Trusts” has resulted in the appointment of three new trustees: Aspi Ambapardiwala, Cyrus Vandriwala and Rohinton Contractor. The trio has already served as members of the Navsari committee of the Trusts "with commitment and dedication,” noted a press release from Tamboly. The Trusts operate from Navsari and Bombay, with resource persons at other locations.
Ambapardiwala teaches at Sir Cowasji Jehangir Navsari Zarthosti Madressa High School and Vandriwala at Seth R. J. J. High School, while Contractor is a businessman. All three serve on the managing committee of Navsari’s D. N. Mehta Sarvajanik Hospital. "With the Navsari end now secure, we have a couple of talented individuals at Bombay groomed to become trustees,” noted Tamboly.
