Parsiana, with rider Damodar atop, stood second in the 1,600 m Chandigarh Plate race in the 1964-65 season at Mahalaxmi Race Course, points out racing enthusiast Binsi Khatow. He shared this tidbit along with a copy of Commercial Sporting News (pictured) dated March 6, 1966 when Parsiana spoke to him in connection with his uncle musician Rudy Cotton (see "The saxophonist and his swing,” Parsiana, September 21-October 6, 2021).
Earlier named Yolanda, the owners listed in the book are Soli Poonawalla and his sons Zavaray, and Cyrus (who set up the vaccine manufacturing facility Serum Institute of India that year). Parented by High Treason and Light of the Highroad, Parsiana’s trainer is listed in this piece of memorabilia as F. Malone.
