Batha’s blog

In his blog "motheriran" (motheriran@wordpress.com) Bangalore-based journalist A. K. Batha presents the "Worldview of a Parsi-Zoroastrian." Started on July 31, 2012, the blog has 17 posts so far, commenting on a variety of subjects triggered off by news items relating to Iran and the Parsi community.

Referring to the history of Zoroastrian Iran, the blogger bemoans certain unhappy traits that have manifest in that country in modern times — the loss of culture in many areas of activity, tyranny of the mullas, absence of a sense of humor. He is appreciative of the superb show by Iran in the London 2012 Olympic Games, contrasting it with the poor performance by India. Cautioning against Parsis being "exploited as a trophy community," he advises "be a law-abiding and socially-conscious citizen of the country you stay in, but never forget the one and only country of your heart and spirit — madar meehan Iran."
