“Prayers in the pandemic”

Armchair editors, desk jockeys and the like have wonderful mastery over words which are used to gloss over the truth. What does the editorial "Prayers in the pandemic” (Parsiana, July 21-August 6, 2020) convey? Government rules regarding places of worship? Apathy on the part of the laity? Lack of empathy by the powers-that-be? Or are we condemned to live out our lives in the limbo of status quo? Parsiana and all other community publications have the power, potential and positivity to use the mighty pen to tell the truth and thereby hasten changes in Parsi society. Gender equality will be the harbinger of this new enlightenment. There will then be more worshippers and believers. Our priests are stuck in a time warp from which there is now no escape. Only an informed public forum can make this a reality.   Come on, Parsis, show your mettle and bring about this change!       HOMI IRANI hjirani@gmail.com  ...
