The letter ‘D’

I had to tell you better/ That the most dreaded letter/ Of the alphabet is D;/ The reason I may say/ Without further delay/ Because it stands for dentistry.

For danger does it also stand,/ In disease does it also land,/ No wonder D, so fear we;/ Yet I may venture/ It stands for denture,/ In old age so necessary.

So next time a dentist when you see/ Fear him not, nor letter D/ But greet him, that too heartily;/ His drill may cause a bit of pain,/ But D will not, I say again,/ So love this doctor’s D freely.
