For a hundred years the Iranian monarchs warred unsuccessfully to convert Armenian Christians to Zoroastrianism
Conversion by the sword was not the prerogative of the Christian crusaders or the followers of Islam. Zoroastrians also took to battle to ensure the spread of the religion.
This little known past, as far as the majority of Zoroastrians are concerned, is an important part of Armenian history.
