I have been an animal lover all my life and established my charity, Animal Welfare And Rescue Efforts (AWARE) Foundation in 2014 to work extensively in the sphere of animal care (pictured) (see "Caring for canines,” Parsiana, January 21-February 6, 2022).
Nestled in the Tansa Forest, Ganeshpuri, the AWARE ashram is home to over 90 cats and dogs, all rescues who have endured the worst experiences and now live a dignified life at the ashram. The AWARE Foundation has worked meticulously in improving the quality of life for animals for years, specializing in accident and trauma care, spay/neuter, vaccinations, geriatric and infant animal care, feeding programs, medical/surgical procedures at the Ganeshpuri ashram as well as in Bombay.
We require food support for 150 animals amounting to Rs 2,41,423; Rs 25,000 for spay/neuter and vaccination camps; and Rs 2,33,300 for medical, surgical and operational expenses, amounting to a total of Rs 4,99,723 every quarter.
