The K. P. B. Nursery School (English medium) situated in Umtolpada, Gholvad, was founded in loving memory of the late Khushrooh Pheroz Byramjee, a benevolent Parsi who started the Byramjee Foundation in 1988, during his lifetime. The Foundation provided for the construction of the school building and takes care of educating 30 to 35 village children from the nursery level through lower and higher kindergarten (KG). We have an affiliation with a primary and secondary English medium school in Gholvad for students who pass out of the K. P. B. Nursery School.

 

 

 

 

However, after carrying out a study we discovered that most children from nursery schools in the villages of Gholvad, Dahanu and the surrounding areas drop out because they cannot afford the fees, uniforms and books. There is also lack of transportation and parents are working and therefore unable to take them to school. To overcome these problems, there is a need to find sponsors for students from Stds I to X.
The expenses per child for one year are estimated at Rs 10,000. This includes school and computer fees, books, uniform, school bag, transportation, stationery and other miscellaneous expenses. The monies collected go into a fund called K. P. B. Nursery School Trust. A progress report of our children is sent to all donors at the end of each academic year.
Each year we hope to send about 10 to 12 students from our Nursery School to high school and are trying to collect the necessary funds for this. We request you to help our cause by donating toward the corpus or sponsoring one child. Please spread the word to family and friends about our endeavor and request them to give generously to the not so fortunate children of these villages. Your support will go a long way in providing education in English to village children so that they are equipped to face life with confidence.
