The social media was recently abuzz with a video on the Iftar party thrown last month by the Minorities Affairs minister and attended by various dignitaries including our Parsi representative on the National Commission for Minorities, Dastur Khurshed Dastoor. This will go down in history as the first gaadi (priestly head) holder (that too of Iranshah) who attended an Iftar party! It is a known fact that at Iftar parties, morsels of food are shared amongst the attendees as a gesture of bonhomie. On seeing this video, we were reminded of the eating habits of the Parsis of yore.
