"We have started moving pediatric patients to the renovated building, but more features will be added in the next couple of months,” Dr Minnie Bodhanwala, chief executive officer of the Wadia Group of Hospitals informed The Times of India (TOI) of January 6, 2017. During the two years that the Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for children in Parel was undergoing renovation, patients had been moved to the Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital located next door. The hospitals are run as a public-private partnership between the Wadia Trust, the Bombay Municipal Corporation and the state government.

"We have already started 100 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) beds and will add 50 more when we start our cardiac heart surgery department next week. Thus, Wadia Hospital will have the highest number of NICU beds in the city. We have already started getting enquiries from donors about sponsoring heart operations for children,” Bodhanwala added. The doctor explained that funds for the renovation and modernization came from contributions raised during their annual events, reported TOI. Earlier children had to be transferred to other hospitals in the city for operations "but now we have a full-time pediatric heart surgeon and a team to operate on the children at affordable rates,” Bodhanwala shared with TOI.
