Beautiful honor

"I needed to find a different base through which you can give back to society,” said social worker Yasmin Mistry who won the June 5, 2022 Mrs World International beauty pageant, on being asked by Parsiana why she had participated. "I will get various platforms… schools, nongovernmental organizations, old age homes” to spread cheer, hopefully, she told us.
"Every day is a new opportunity to change your life and be who you want to.” Topping the list from among 52 finalists, Mistry told Parsiana that "there were zonal rounds and then the finals in Bombay… There was a five-day rigorous training program at the Marriott (Hotel)…The finals were also held there.”

A trustee of the Zoroastrian Trust Funds of India, Mistry was a candidate for the recent Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) trusteeship elections, but withdrew her candidature citing opposition from her mother, social worker Arnavaz Mistry, a former BPP trustee.
States the website mrsworldinternatonal.com, the pageant "is a celebration of womanhood through an equal opportunity platform for married women to showcase their talent and beauty to the world.” Their director, businesswoman Barkha Nangia, director of Glamour Gurgaon and a plus size model, "organizes top end beauty pageants around the country that showcase the finest fashion statements of our times,” notes the website.
