I have been reading your magazine with interest for several years because I find you belong to the group that understands that change is happening constantly and to remain relevant one must change and adapt to the times. What is more satisfying is that your articles reflect your conviction in the stand you take on many topics that are controversial to Parsis though not to Zoroastrians. It enthuses me to read that there are others who have already separated Parsi thoughts from the true Zoroastrian teachings.
When I was a college student, one of my subjects was history. I can still hear the resonance of the impressive voice of the professor whose opening remarks on the very first day were: "History (pause)… the past is history (pause), the present, reality (pause), the future, only imagination (longer pause with a hopeful eye on the positive impact the words may have created).”
How does any of this relate to your magazine? I see that even though there is consistent opposition, you insist that the past has gone, it cannot come back and trying to live in the past is foolish, like a bigot who is stuck in his/her tracks. You encourage and stand with reality. You report on the present, from a stance in the present and every sentence that is published rings true. I haven’t found much wishful thinking in your pages which suggests that you don’t want to be associated with the possibilities of a tomorrow that may never come. And, when you point out inconsistencies, it brings a smile to my face and an occasional guffaw. Kudos to you and your team! Carry on regardless.
