She is currently ranked number one in Gujarat in table tennis in three categories – junior girls, youth and women (where she shares the rank with two other players Divya Gohil and Sapna Sharma). Frenaz played and won at the Open Gujarat Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament in mid-July in Ahmedabad, as she has in the two earlier editions in Rajkot and Surat.

The teenager had also been part of the state’s table tennis team at the 34th National Games 2011 in Jharkhand in February, where the Gujarat women’s squad won their way to a bronze medal. "Frenaz has so far beaten every top class woman player of Gujarat,” states sports journalist and cricket umpire Keki Doodhwala of Surat. "Her most memorable win was when she beat India No. 2 Nikhat Banu at Jodhpur.” If she performs well she may get an opportunity to secure a place in Group 1 (rank one to eight at all India level). She is very keen to play for India, Doodhwala adds. Frenaz is currently in Standard XI at the Sir J. J. School in Surat. "The principal and sports teachers are very supportive,” says Mehernosh who has been coaching and encouraging both his daughters, Zena and Frenaz. Zena is in TYBCom at the S. P. B. College and holds the University No.1 ranking in table tennis, he states. While still a schoolgirl, Zena had played and won at the state and national level at the School Games in different parts of India.
