Memories of Mistri

At a book reading of writer Shirin Isal’s book Zenobia Mistri, Teacher par Excellence (see "Tribute to a teacher,” Books, Parsiana, December 7, 2018), academician and professor of English Shireen Vakil was thankful for "keeping alive the memory of a remarkable teacher and a kind human being,” while author Soonoo Taraporewala was "impressed.” At the February 12, 2019 event organized by Mehli and Saker Mistri and moderated by literary critic and Parsiana contributing editor, Firdaus Gandavia, Isal read extracts from her book, wrote advertising professional Dara Acidwalla, who sent a write-up on the event to us.         Shirin Isal in conversation with Firdaus Gandavia       Zenobia Mistri   Zenobia’s students present in the audience evoked memories of their "immensely talented and generous teacher,” he noted. The evening had its moments of humor over Zenobia’s lovable eccentricities but many present also acknowledged the influence she had exercised on them.
