"At WZO (World Zoroastrian Organisation) Trusts we have always believed that the single biggest way to impact an organization is to focus on leadership development. There is almost no limit to the potential of an organization that has sound leadership and we at WZO Trusts are blessed that a very competent… leadership team has been put into place,” noted Trusts’ chairman Dinshaw Tamboly in conversation with Parsiana on January 11, 2021. Their two newly appointed trustees, chartered accountant Homiyar Madan and community activist Freyaz Shroff will "take the WZO Trusts upwards and onwards,” noted Tamboly’s communication dated January 8. With the duo joining the board, the Trusts have nine trustees.

The Trusts comprise The World Zoroastrian Organisation Trust, The WZO Trust for Women and Children and WZO Trust Funds. The first of the three trusts formed in 1991 was led by Tamboly, his wife Bachi, Farrokh Kasad and the late Firoj Panthaki. Solicitor Farzana Mojgani has been a trustee since 2007. Teachers Aspi Ambapardiwala, Cyrus Vandriwala and entrepreneur Rohinton Contractor assumed trusteeship in 2018 (see "WZO: New trustees,” Events and Personalities, Parsiana, June 7, 2019).
"Whilst the old guard comprising of Kasad, Bachi and Dinshaw Tamboly will continue to provide guidance to their colleagues for a few more years, the transition to the new guard” has commenced, noted the chairman.
Shroff, who has been "working with the WZO Trusts in one way or another since her early 20s,” noted she has served as a volunteer with the Trusts and supported the Trusts’ initiative to raise awareness about community members in need. "I hope to build a relationship of trust and respect” with international and local organizations and donors to support community members in a way they feel heard and valued, she wrote to Parsiana on January 12. Madan refrained from offering comments.
