According to Dastur Khurshed Dastoor of Udavada, Meher mah, Meher roz stands for balance — as the seventh or middle month of the Zoroastrian year and the 16th roz. Speaking at a function organized to mark the day at Seth Dadabhoy and Seth Mancherji Pestonji Wadia Agiary on February 28, 2017, he reminded the audience that Meher Yazad holds the scales of balance and stands for what is just and perfect. Quoting from the Ahunavad Gatha, Dastoor exhorted the audience to "see with your eyes wide open, think with your own mind…” Ervad Darayesh Katrak spoke on Behram Yazad and reminded the audience that the angel always hears the prayers of his sincere devotees. A jashan in the Uzirin gah peformed by 11 mobeds flagged off the celebrations earlier.
The audience was welcomed by the chairman of the Agiary Trust, Kersi Limathwalla, who spoke of Meher mah as being one for celebration. He thanked Ervad (Dr) Ramiyar Karanjia, director of the "Know your religion – Know yourself” course that enters its 10th year.

Karanjia reiterated that for faith to succeed, one needs consistent efforts and a logical mind. "But let the old customs… not… degenerate,” he added. The priest also announced that the topic for the 10th edition of the course starting April 2, 2017 would be The Behram Yasht. The course is coordinated by Roxane Desai, who sent a note on the day’s proceedings to Parsiana.
Jamshed Kotwal and his songsters entertained the audience with some nostalgia-invoking melodies, followed by a play by the students of the Dadar Dharmagyan Class titled "Mushkel Aasaan Behram Yazad.” A community dinner followed.
