"Can’t say about reopening… Lots of legal issues involved,” president Jehangir Bisney responded on June 4, 2023 to Parsiana’s follow-up on the temporary closure of The Zoroastrian Club (TZC) in Secunderabad. A dispute with members Keki Irani, Godrej Irani and Shahzad Irani had resulted in the popular Club closing its doors since end March.

The Club’s managing committee called an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on May 28 to "consider the proposed expulsion” of the three Iranis and to "permanently blacklist (them) including their present immediate family members, associates and any other person(s) who have any form of understanding with the three aforesaid individuals, jointly or individually, from participating or being involved in any tender, contract, agreement and/or any other form of understanding” with TZC (see, "Zoroastrian Club’s sad saga,” Parsiana, April 7, 2023).”
The notice cancelling the meeting stated that the managing committee had contemplated re-opening of the Club soon after the EGM. "However, Keki Irani has obtained an interim stay order on the EGM… as has been noted from open court proceedings. Although the court order is yet to be served upon us, upholding the highest traditions as a law-abiding institution, your Club is constrained to cancel the EGM on May 28.”
