"The only thing bearable about the film [Sallu ki Shaadi (Sallu’s wedding) (SKS)], is the lead actress Arshin Mehta’s performance, but that’s only because the others have aced themselves in hamming,” said The Times of India of December 9, 2017 about the chartered accountant turned actress’s role in the romantic comedy that released the previous day. Mehta plays the romantic interest of a man who promises his parents that he would not get married until his idol actor Salman Khan does. She shares screen space with veteran actress Zeenat Aman who plays the mother of the recalcitrant groom. "So much to learn from her... she is very sweet,” states the newcomer, in conversation with Parsiana on January 4, 2018. "Movie reviews depend on a whole lot of factors, including the mood of the reviewer,” states the "mid-20s” newcomer.

SKS was the first major movie that Mehta signed up for in early 2017. A participant in the Miss Poona beauty pageant, Mehta states that she also dabbled in other pageants. "I only entered beauty contests because I wanted to get into movies.” Of the "60-70” commercials that she has done so far, she considers the one for Imperial Blue ("Music CDs,” a mask for "whisky”) and fast food company McDonald’s as the ones which got her the maximum eyeballs.
An alumna of an army school in Ahmednagar, Mehta’s parents are based in that city, where father Dr Mehernosh runs a management institute and mother Shiraz is a homemaker. Brother Parvez is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at the University of British Columbia. "I say my prayers every day... I believe in all gods...actually I am a (spiritual master) Meher Baba lover,” she tells us. Currently shooting for a Gujarati film, Rang (Color) and also doing commercials for Ariel and Vivel, the actor tells us, "I rehearse very hard before each audition...and will continue to keep practicing and working very hard till I land a movie with a major production house.”
