Around 200 alumni revisited The Alexandra Girls’ English Institution, "their childhood home,” when the alumni association organized a meet and greet evening on January 20, 2024. Erstwhile staff members, teachers and principals Freny Mehta and Farrah Gustaspi

attended. The eldest "student” in attendance was from the class of 1966. Principal Kashmira Sarkari sent Parsiana a note on the event. "The excitement was palpable and refused to die down as the teachers were surrounded by requests for photographs.” Archived photographs "were dusted and turned into beautiful heartfelt walks down memory lane.” A quiz on the history of the school and a "scrumptious buffet” followed. The revered school bell, which no one had dared to touch while in school, was rung with peals of laughter and giggles, said Sarkari. Newly appointed director of the School Zubin Billimoria, was welcomed by director Ruby Pavri. The cherry on the cake was the robust karaoke singing session which refused to end, stated the principal.
At the meet Sarkari, herself an alumna, stated, "I only want to give back to the school and the staff what they had given me as a child… love and encouragement and a heart full of gratitude.”
