Chief guest, managing director of Godrej Industries Nadir Godrej recited this at the variety entertainment program cum annual prize distribution function of the Junior Red Cross (JRC) of Maharashtra State. The function held on February 4, 2018 at the Homi J. H. Taleyarkhan Memorial Hall was attended by "over 250” persons, according to a note sent to Parsiana by JRC chairman Godrej Dotivala. "More than 100 trophies, medals and certificates” were presented to the winners of competitions and activities carried out during the year, in addition to recognizing the efforts of school principals, teachers and volunteers. St Xavier’s High School, Mira Road walked away with the Best Active School Trophy 2017-18.

An audio visual presentation on the activities of the JRC and cultural items presented by students of The Blossoms Sunderbai Thackersey English High School, St Xavier’s High School, and K. C. College of Management and Research kicked off the program. JRC "has provided educational inputs to over 6,000 students in Raigad Zilla Parishad Primary Schools, and those in Vasai, Shahpur and Bombay,” noted Dotivala in his address to the gathering. Their members have aided orphanages, old age homes and centers for the underprivileged and differently abled children.
JRC honorary secretary Rajesh Satghar proposed a vote of thanks.
