Daara Patel (pictured), secretary general of the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA) received the award of excellence at the Pharma Leadership Summit held virtually on April 29-30, 2021, Melvin Rodrigues, senior manager IDMA informed Parsiana via email. Patel spoke about "Embracing digitization in pharma – adopting the new normal” in these times of Covid-19.
Patel said that during the pandemic which started last year, there was a complete lockdown adversely affecting production. However, the pharmaceutical industry has adapted to the situation and today business is normal with an increase in the demand for medicines. Also, with people working from office/home/anywhere, virtual meetings/seminars, digital payments and government approvals being obtained virtually, the pharma industry has triumphed in these difficult times.
