The Parsi Ambulance and Nursing Divisions (PAND), the first ambulance division of its kind in Asia, was gifted a new ambulance, by Nani Marshal and Roshan Lam in memory of Dhun and Jehangir Marshall, noted a write- up from the organization. On June 5, 2022 at the Dae mah jashan and prize distribution function, chief guest, assistant commissioner of police, Cyrus Irani inaugurated the new vehicle, a Tata Winger.
Present were PAND trustees Aspi Sarkari, Homiar Vakil and Dr Parvin Desai. PAND secretary Homi Wadia read the organization’s reports for 2019 to 2021.

The jashan was led by Ervad Hormaz Ravji, while nursing officer Havovi Patel compered the program; noted the write-up. The vote of thanks was delivered by transport officer Rayomaand Tavaria. A short play, Bawaji Zordar, performed by members of the PAND followed.
PAND was formed in April 1904 under the auspices of St John Ambulance Brigade Overseas. In addition to its public duties in first aid and health care during calamities and Ganesh Utsavs, the Division’s work includes transporting patients. These services are provided free to all communities, Vakil told Parsiana on June 13. Surgical beds, walking sticks and similar equipment is available on hire at nominal prices. The Division has about 35 members though Vakil bemoans the Nursing Division had no new entrants for a long time.
