Rusi Gandevia, a former trustee of the Thana Parsi Zoroastrian Anjuman (TPZA) was felicitated by the Anjuman on the occasion of Khordad Saal, for his selfless services to the TPZA over a period of over two decades. He was presented a plaque and a golden Asho Farohar as a token of the TPZA’s love and appreciation, and his family members were thanked for the support extended to him in the discharge of his duties, notes an email received from Zarsis Udhnawala, TPZA president. Also felicitated at the function on August 23, 2012 was Zubin Taraporewalla for his achievements as captain of the Bombay University’s table tennis team and his proficiency in the game.

About 101 Zoroastrians had come together at the Cawasji Beheramji Divecha Khan Bahadur Hall to celebrate the occasion. Earlier, a jashan was performed at the Thana Patell Agiary. At the function meritorious students received recognition for their academic achievements in the SSC, HSC and degree examinations, Udhnawala mentions. Fun and games were organized by Havovi and Kaizad Billimoria and enjoyed by all. The function ended with a vote of thanks and the hope that there would be many more such celebrations in the spirit of fellowship, happiness and harmony. This was followed by a dinner catered by Ervad Nariman Dalal and sponsored by a well-wisher, notes the email.
